Well, hello! My name is Mariska, and I’m the proud founder of this platform dedicated to celebrating and empowering female entrepreneurs. I believe in the power of storytelling, mentorship, and collaboration to transform lives, and I’m thrilled to share a little bit about my own journey and how it inspired the creation of this space.
I grew up as the only child of a single mom in a small town, where opportunities for mentorship and guidance were few and far between. Watching my mom work tirelessly to provide for us, I learned the value of resilience and determination from an early age. However, I often wished for a mentor—someone who could show me what was possible beyond the limits of my environment.
That wish came true when I moved to Cape Town and encountered a mentor who changed my life. This incredible individual helped me believe in myself and achieve my dream of becoming a Cabin Crew. Before I knew it, I was soaring above the clouds as a crew member for Emirates, a career that took me to countless corners of the world over seven amazing years. Flying gave me a profound sense of purpose, freedom, and fulfillment, as well as the opportunity to connect with people from all walks of life.
When I retired from flying, I found myself searching for something that could ignite my passion in the same way. It wasn’t an easy journey—stepping into the unknown can often feel overwhelming—but it also gave me time to reflect on my experiences and values. I realized how pivotal mentorship and support had been in my journey and how many others might be longing for similar guidance. That’s when the idea for this platform was born.
I created this space to be a resource and a community for women and girls who are ready to dream bigger, push boundaries, and redefine their futures. It’s a place where female entrepreneurs can share their journeys, celebrate their successes, and gain inspiration from one another. Most importantly, it’s a space that fosters collaboration, support, and mentorship—because no one should feel stuck or unsure of how to take the next step.
Through this platform, I hope to shine a spotlight on the incredible achievements of women who are building businesses, breaking barriers, and making a difference in their communities. By sharing these stories, I aim to create a ripple effect of empowerment and possibility, helping others realize that their dreams are within reach.
