YOUR COMFORT ZONE WILL KILL YOU.
These are words I never really resonated with until I tried to take a step into the passion I felt which I eventually turned into my career.
Giving advice on life to someone is automatically thinking they have gone through the same things, the battles the hardships you have and even if they have NO ONE wants to hear the fluff of it, in the end, it’s hard. Advice is subjective. Unless you’ve walked the exact same journey and path I have a step for step your still unique. so it will always be different because every single human soul is different.
What I can say is without giving you my full life story of how I got here. How I’m trying to push limits in my own creative mind, industry and experiences not only in my career but overall life. I can say this. Follow that gut feeling, your intention. STOP listening to the people who want you to fit into their box because it’s convenient and not threatening to them.
TRY. FAIL. LEARN AND REPEAT.
Nothing was handed to me and I am grateful for that because if I didn’t fall down a million times, second-guessed, and doubted myself a million times I would have never found my passion and would never be here.
It’s Scary, Its ALWAYS going to be. No matter how well someone else seems to be pulling it off. There are no guarantees in life But make sure you had the guts to step out of the perception people wanted you to be and had the guts step into your passion.
If it doesn’t scare you or push you you’re wasting your time. take the risks, fall on your face and learn from it and even after all that do it anyway.
Instead of telling you everything I have gone through, experienced and sacrificed. It still doesn’t define me. WHAT DEFINES ME is my next step? The one everyone thought I wasn’t capable of. Take every day as it comes, trust the universe and trust in your own journey.
From being a scared emirates air hostess for 3 years thinking that was all I was good at to coming back to SA with nothing more than memories and a great wardrobe and a passion for design.
Starting from a promo girl all the way from the bottom, making my way day to day not un-scared I can proudly say after 5 years I have worked with the biggest international companies, festivals, clubs, events and people. Only now I can say I love what I do and who I am and where I am going.

It was never handed to me and that is what I am so grateful for because no matter how hard it was when I went through it I would never be the designer I am today if it wasn’t for that.
Being creative is the hardest thing-to-do. How do you explain the colour blue to someone who is blind? Trust your gut, take the jump and the leap and if you fall and fail do it again and again and you will get there YOUR WAY.
