Hi, my name is Lauren Correia and I am the founder and owner of LC & CO. I am 27 year old living in the beautiful Cape Town. I love to do charity work and help where ever I can through Women4Women which is a non-profitable organisation that focuses on women in South Africa.
LC & CO. is a Cosmetic Distribution Company currently specializing in spray tanning. I developed my love for spray tanning when I was a personal assistant for Cindy Nell-Roberts ( Miss South Africa, TV presenter and my role model ). I would work my 9-5 job and then would do my mobile spray tanning company after hours. From my experience and knowledge with regards to this industry coupled with my understanding of what it feels like to not have ends meet for a women living in South Africa, I started LC & CO which gives other women the opportunity to earn extra income through spray tanning and learn how to become independent.
As fun and exciting it all is, I suffer very badly from anxiety. Moments of feeling incredible to a day later feeling my complete worst. Working two jobs, juggling relationships of both family and friends as well as trying to be social. Sometimes letting the social life take over to cover the problems I wasn’t wanting to face. I learnt a great term which is, “Your mind never shuts down. If you break your arm it is what will stop you from your normal life routine so you are forced to care and get well. With your mind, we tend to not notice the broken pieces because they don’t stop us from our normal routine. Take time to reflect, make proper decisions and learn to love yourself.”
After learning to deal with my anxiety (not to say I have it all covered, I have days still and will continue to) and learning to love myself, I became able to focus my energy completely onto my business, making a change in the world, supporting women through trying to be independent as well as learning how to live life with struggle.
Future goals for LC & CO. is to expand our services through other cosmetic products. Another future goal of ours is to become a company focused on women empowerment and share training courses/group events with an educational base through other successful independent women within the industry or just to uplift and motivate other women.
