My name is Lauren Raynard, founder of Lauren R Couture. Born and raised in the Swartland town of Malmesbury. I am happily married with 2 bubbly little boys, now residing in the beautiful Mother City, Cape Town.
My fashion journey started as a little girl playing dress up with my Barbie dolls. I would design and make all sorts of beautiful garments, or so I thought at the time – looking back not so much lol. I went on to study Fashion Design at CPUT graduating in 2005.
After graduating I started freelancing and created garments for private clients. In 2007 after gaining enough confidence, I landed a job with one of South Africa’s top wedding gown designers. There I would go on to perfect my craft and learn the true meaning of quality design.
In 2015 when my son was diagnosed with cancer and after 8 years with the company, I took a break from fashion. When my little boy was declared healthy I then decided to venture out and try to conquer the fashion world on my own! After a slow start, by word of mouth my business started growing and the clients started pouring in. Year after year the clients have increased and the business has become well established, with my name becoming well known in the community and surrounds.
My passion for creating custom-made garments that fit and shape the individual’s body to perfection is what motivates me and makes me love what I do. I look forward to meeting and working with all of you beautiful women.
