Hey guys, I’m Sarah Norscia, an avid fitness enthusiast and advocate for animal rescue. I have my own business, Go Figure Training and help folk to get into a fit, healthy lifestyle. (sarahgofigure@gmail.com)I have been competitive in the field of SA Fitness since 2008 and hold 3 SA Figure titles.
18 month’s ago, my husband passed away. My journey has not been easy. Werner Vincenzo Norscia was the love of my life. We met in 1996, started dating in 2006 and were married in 2013. I can’t begin to describe the trauma of losing your life partner. At first, it felt like my whole world had been shattered. One thing about Werner though, he always pushed me to be my best, to never give up. I decided that I have a choice going forward, either I live in self-pity or I live to make him proud. I chose the latter. I have thrown myself into my training and it has been the epicentre of helping me through. I refuse to take antidepressants or the like as there is no greater “happy drug” than exercise! I am hoping to commence an app by early next year so that I can offer online training for folk who do not stay in my area.
One of my favourite quotes “Life is a gift and it offers us the privilege, opportunity and responsibility to give something back, by becoming more “I strive to be my best self and to make Werner proud every single day. I want him to look down and shout “that’s MY girl”!I plan to enter Mrs SA in 2020 with a vision to inspire other people who haven’t had an easy life…which in my view, is the majority of South Africans given our current poverty and crime rate. You can use your pain to lift and inspire or you can succumb to it. It’s that simple. I have also been involved in animal rescue for many years. I love animals. They are the epitome of unconditional love. I volunteer at numerous animal shelters and also partake in various protests pertaining to the welfare of our wildlife. If you have never visited an animal shelter, I encourage you to do so. It will open your eyes to the reality which is a rescue.
Thank you to Boss Babe for choosing to feature me. I am humbled and consider it a great opportunity to inspire other women out there!
