ANA KUNI is Ukrainian-born visual artist and model, currently working in Cape Town where her gallery and studio is situated.
She is known for creating murals with a underlying message of spiritual growth and awakening. Her work varies from walls to canvases, metal panels to denim collection, keeping a theme strong. Main character of her work is Warrior Woman, whom Ana describes as a modern being – Conscious, Compassionate, Creative human living in harmony with nature. Big part of her work has been transferred onto denim jackets, creating a trend of wearable art with a positive message in mind.
Using art to explore her creativity and social media to connect with like-minded people, Ana’s work caught attention of major publications such as Elle SA, Marie Claire SA,Home Journal Hong Kong,Business Day SA,GQ UK and tv programs , Top Billing and Bokeh TV .She is known to paint live at festivals and streets holding an audience and connecting to the crowd through visual conversation.This also led her to public speaking on a theme of empowerment and raising creativity.
Ana has managed her career since the beginning allowing it to be as authentic as possible. She has held numerous solo shows in Cape Town, as well as collaborative metal prints collection release with Swedish photographer Linnea Frank, that has been shown in South Africa and Sweden once a year since 2016.She is currently preparing for a solo show in Tokyo where she used to reside.She will present series of murals,original work and denim jacket collection in October 2019
Ana’s biggest passion is discovery and reaching of the highest human potential and she constantly draws this message into her art.There is constant search for creative way of being and limitless space to explore, which guarantees us new collections and ideas to be coming from Ana, or as she would say, that creative energy comes through her and she doesn’t own it, just channelling it to a surface.
