I am a nude/alt model that has been in the industry for over 8 years. I have grown my following base from scratch over 6 years ago with the love of matching lingerie. After a few years, I noticed that I was starting to make an impact on people and other girls who wanted to join the industry. I was happy that I had inspired others to join, get the courage to be amazing and love themselves for who they are.
Then the first sexual assault happened on set. I was so scared I stopped shooting for months. I crawled away and stayed hidden. I didn’t want to go back into a cold industry.. Eventually I stood up again and brushed off the assault and tried to ignore it. I shot again and I realized my passion for shooting, for being in front of the camera. I started to fall in love with the art of being me. I had almost fallen back into the bliss of ignorance when the second assault happened. This time more serious.. I was knocked down but this time I didn’t stay down. I took a step back and started working on a new project. One where I could create a safe industry for woman to be in.
You see the second photographer was a well recommended one, one that had a high standing in the industry and that scared me. I stayed quiet about my story for 2 years, working hard behind the scenes, gathering information from other models. Now I stand up today, As a voice for people who have been assaulted in this industry. I stand up for the respect we deserve. Just because we are nude it doesn’t mean we don’t deserve respect. My brand is bring awareness to this industry and make is a safe one.
Thank you for this one again. I hope this helps other models speak out and help make this industry safe.
